Our impact

At Corban & Blair, sustainability is a core part of our operations. We focus on recycling materials, reducing unnecessary travel, and working with suppliers to give back. We continuously strive to minimise our environmental impact and are committed to expanding our sustainability initiatives.

Here are some of our key efforts:

B Corp

Corban & Blair is proud to be a Certified B Corporation®, part of a global community of businesses committed to using their influence as a force for good. Certified by the non-profit B Lab, we meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Our mission extends beyond exceptional Australian design and manufacturing—we collaborate with Indigenous artists, artisans, and poets to create sustainable, personal, and meaningful products. By using recycled and upcycled materials, we prioritise reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Becoming a B Corp was a natural progression in our journey to create a positive impact.

Indigenous Art Code

As a Member and Signatory of the Indigenous Art Code, we are deeply committed to ethical and fair trade with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. The Code ensures transparency and integrity in the promotion and sale of Indigenous artwork. As a Dealer Member, we uphold the highest standards of fairness, honesty, and professionalism in all our dealings with artists.

Carbon Neutral Frames

For decades, we’ve partnered with a New Zealand manufacturer to produce handmade frames from plantation-grown timber. To offset the emissions from manufacturing, we purchase carbon credits, with funds directed towards land regeneration initiatives. These frames are a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.

Maximising Material Use, Minimising Waste

We strive to utilise every part of the leather we work with, transforming offcuts into keyrings, coasters, and bookmarks. Any remaining scraps are sent to UPPAREL, a leading organisation in textile recycling. UPPAREL converts waste into UPtex, a versatile material used for packaging, signage, and homewares.

Our goal is simple: reduce consumption and prevent waste from ending up in landfills. By designing durable, timeless products made from carefully chosen, long-lasting materials, we ensure our creations are cherished and used for years to come.
