B Corp Month Q&A Panel – “Retail and the Conscious Consumer”

As purpose-driven business owners, we are always looking for ways to connect, learn, and grow within the B Corp community. On Wednesday, 19th March, we had the privilege of attending and participating in an inspiring panel discussion at the Totem Road Showroom in Paddington, hosted by B Local Sydney.

A Conversation About Business with Purpose

The conversation flowed naturally as we explored why we pursued B Corp certification, the challenges we faced along the way, and the impact it has had on our business. We dove into the practical steps we’ve taken to embed sustainability into our operations and the strategies we use to educate consumers on making more ethical choices.

One of the key points we discussed was the importance of customer feedback in driving our sustainability initiatives. Hearing firsthand how our products are used and valued has shaped the way we continue to improve and innovate in a way that aligns with our environmental and social goals.

Beyond the Panel: Community and Connection

Beyond the thought-provoking discussion, the event was an excellent opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals over morning tea. Attendees shared their own experiences with conscious purchasing, the challenges of ethical business, and the rewards of being part of the B Corp movement.

As we walked through Totem Road’s sustainable furniture collection, it was clear that the brands represented at this event weren’t just talking about sustainability—they were actively living it. Seeing their dedication firsthand was both motivating and reaffirming of why we do what we do at Corban & Blair.

Final Thoughts

Leaving the event, Amanda and I felt a renewed sense of purpose. Events like these remind us that as business owners and consumers, we all have a role to play in shaping a more ethical and sustainable future.
